3rd Annual Hutchinson County 5K
Cancer Run-Walk June 3rd Results
Approximately 140 individuals participated in the 5K Cancer Run-Walk on
Saturday, June 3rd. "Corporate sponsors, business sponsors, runners and
walkers raised around $3,000. for the American Cancer Society. People
attend from the Parkston and Tripp area, surrounding counties as well as
out-of-state participates It gives our committee a great feeling to see
the pride the Parkston and Tripp community's takes in supporting friends
and family who have gone through the ordeal of cancer" stated Co-Chair Jan
Walker.

Parkston Cancer Society and Avera St.
Benedict Health Center were co-sponsors of the 3rd Annual Hutchinson 5K
Cancer Run-Walk event. All proceeds fro the Cancer Run-Walk go to the
American Cancer Society to support area programs including Navigator,
Reach to Recovery, I Can Cope, and Cancer Support Group. Avera St.
Benedict Hospital offers chemotherapy and has implemented several of the
cancer programs. Parkston High School FCCLA assisted with the event,
selling "Hope" bracelets and the Parkston Girl Scouts manned water
stations at the 1mile and 2 mile points.
